1st SYMPOSIUM ON BUILDING TRUST AND CONFIDENCE
IN VOTING SYSTEMS - DEC 10-11, 2003

The NIST Voting Symposium was held on December 10 and 11. Speaker presentations and webcast archives are being prepared for posting on the website. Please check back at this site for changes to this information.

The symposium dealt with issues relevant to the implementation of the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), and help foster dialogue and collaboration among voting and elections stakeholders. The symposium will clarify the NIST role, under HAVA, in supplying technical guidance for voting standards and in supporting information sharing and consensus building.

Audience: Federal, State and Local Election Officials, Academic Researchers, Voting Systems Hardware and Software Vendors, Disability Advocates, Independent Testing Authorities, Election Lawyers, Voting Rights Activists
